Christian, the answer to your question is: India (but ofcourse :-)) has the highest number of languages, 428 (415 +13 extinct), listed in ISO 639-3.

I'm afraid that your answer is not exactly correct, Vidya. There are a few countries that list more languages than India. I leave up to you to find which ones..:-)
